Ceremony

Weaving sanctity through every milestone and honouring your transition on this transcendental path of matrescense, including mother blessing ceremony, placenta ceremony and closing ceremony after birth.
In Devotion to the Mother
As a full spectrum doula I believe in honouring the sacred rite of passage of pregnancy, birth and postpartum. I walk beside women and their families with holistic, grounded and heartfelt care, so that women may begin their journey into motherhood feeling held, supported and seen.
Postpartum care is cross-cultural, and I draw upon multiple lineages of wise women who I have been honoured to sit at the feet at to provide devotional care to birthing mothers.
Through deep connection building, nourishing foods, traditional therapies for postpartum, and ritual to acknowledge each woman’s profound journey, I sit at the altar of birth and womanhood.

Womb Basti
Womb Basti is the pooling of warm sesame oil within a dough encasement over the womb. Basti treatments balance and nurture Vata dosha, using heat to heal and oil to nourish.
Our wombs crave warmth, especially during the Vata Apana Vayu (downward moving energy) time of our bleed or postpartum.
The qualities of Sesame Oil warms, nourishes, smoothes and soothes — it helps to tonify and aid in relaxation and rejuvenation, balancing Vata.
This artform is so sacred and healing, and it is such an honour to hold space for such ancient traditions.
The sacred and ancient modality of Womb Basti is rooted in traditional Ayurvedic alchemy — supporting warmth and increasing blood circulation to the womb. Used to soothe during menstruation, support fertility & nourish during postpartum

“The sesame oil heated up just has to be the most magnetic and delicious aroma the world has ever known! I was so intrigued by Lily’s healing craft; how she sculpted the ouroburros bridge to hold the oil over my womb, and the beautiful blankets & pillows on her massage table. All of my senses felt truly engaged and pampered. Having my first baby just weeks before, this hot oil over belly and gentle massage around hips helped bring much needed heat back to my core. I had a few stretch marks and a muscle in my abdomen that felt torn and honestly after the womb basti I felt all better! My stretch marks felt hydrated and supported and the pain in my abdomen just seemed to go away!” - Alicia

Let’s Connect
If you would like to meet before booking to feel if I’m the birthkeeper for you, I would love to connect over a cup of tea. Complimentary meetups are available in Bellingen, Gumbaynggirr Country.
I honour the Traditional Custodians of the Gumbaynggirr land on which I work, live, love and birth; and recognise their continuing connection to land, water and community. I pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging, and acknowledge that this beautiful country always was, and always will be, Aboriginal land.
I honour and acknowledge that the rituals, modalities, practices and ceremonies I offer are rooted in ancient and sacred cultures and places.
It is with deep reverence that I share these modalities, and with huge gratitude to the teachers who have passed down the thread of their wisdom.
May these practices continue to honour the mothers that have been, the mothers that are, and the mothers who are yet to become.
